Connecting PeriTrend / Octopus 101

Data are sent from program PeriTrend to program PeriData by a mouse click. The data transmission is similar to the transmission from an external perimeter to PeriData, but sender and receiver are on the same PC.

The connection with PeriData consists of 3 steps:

1. Installation of PeriData on the same PC where the PeriTrend (Version 4.0 or higher) is installed.
Explanation: Data transmission does not use a cable. The data is handed over using a file on the hard disk.

2. Configuration of program PeriTrend

3. Configuration of program PeriData - Note: In the Perimeter tab, select File-Import. As perimeter type, select PeriTrend.

After that, you can send data from program PeriTrend with a click of the mouse. The data will immediately show up in the PeriData database.

Alternative

Alternatively, it is possible to open PeriTrend files with program PeriData, select and import data. This option is better to transfer larger amount of data.

Handling of the PeriTrend (PVD) files

When using PeriData, it is recommended to create a new PeriTrend (PVD) file every month. Call them by the month, meaning 2000_01.pvd 2000_02.pvd etc. This avoids also problems with the PVD file with more than 1000 examinations. Make a backup copy of these files.
