To enable data transmission, perimeter and PC are connected with a cable. This is a special cable. You can produce this cable yourself or let it be produced for you. Please note that a standard modem cable will not work !
If you want to produce the cable yourself, you should use the same cable specification as described for the HFA 2 . To this cable, you add a standard adapter DB25 male - DB9 female at the perimeter side.
The cable is plugged into a RS-232 connector (9 pole male) at the PC. These connectors are called COM port or serial interface. Please identify the number of the COM port and note it for the configuration. The COM number has to be between 1 and 4 for technical reasons.
If there is no COM port, use a serial-to-USB-adapter.
